At the Law Offices of Frank J. Riccio, P.C., I represent individuals and their families, whose medical or dental provider has breached the applicable standard of care in diagnosing and/or treating medical and/or dental conditions. When a physician, dentist, podiatrist or chiropractor, negligently causes injury or death to a patient, that patient may be entitled to money damages in a civil lawsuit.

I also represent crime victims in civil actions for money damages. For example, when a person is injured or killed, due to negligent security; negligent service of alcohol; and/or negligent supervision and training of employees, I represent those individuals in their civil claim for money damages. This representation includes those individuals who are victims of assault and battery; sexual abuse or rape, in a public facility, such as an apartment complex; recreational organization; college or university; private business; day care facility; or religious organization.

I also represent people who have been injured or killed by intoxicated drivers. These claims may include claims against any bar; liquor store; or social host, who negligently provided alcohol to the intoxicated driver.

I also represent those individuals who are injured or killed in automobile and/or truck accidents.

I am familiar with the federal and state regulations relating to trucking safety and have access to the accident reconstruction and trucking safety experts, needed to prove these types of cases.

Finally, my firm represents workers or their families, who have been injured or killed, on the job. My clients have included police officers; fire fighters; carpenters; electrical workers; plumbers; laborers; and cable splicers. Although my firm does not handle worker's compensation, my firm does associate with a firm that specializes in worker's compensation. I have made arrangements with this firm to meet with my clients at my Braintree office, for the convenience of the client.

As you can see, I have limited my practice to certain specialized legal practice areas. The law, like medicine, has become increasingly complicated. Because of this increased complexity, many lawyers and law firms, limit their practice to specific types of cases. Specialization improves the quality of advice and skill that an attorney can provide. I am lead counsel in all of my cases and I am involved in every stage of the process. When representing individuals who are injured, or their families, in the event of a death, professional qualifications are extremely important. I have been a trial attorney since 1985. I have tried cases in Federal Court (First Circuit), Massachusetts Superior Court and Massachusetts District Court.

I received my law degree, cum laude, at Suffolk Law School in 1985. I have a D.M.D. degree from Boston University (1977). I practiced general dentistry for seven years in private practice, prior to engaging in my full-time career as a trial attorney. I have been a part-time faculty member at Harvard Dental School , since 1995. I received my Board Certification in Civil Trial law in 2000, and was re-certified in 2005. I have given lectures to the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys; Harvard Dental School ; The Massachusetts Dental Society; Children's Hospital; and other medical legal organizations. I have also been published in the Massachusetts Bar Association journal (link) . I am a member of the National Crime Victim Bar Association (NCVBA); Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA); and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA). I am on the health law council of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) and I am licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and the First Circuit (Federal). I have been selected by Boston Magazine as a Super Lawyer for the years 2005 and 2006 in the areas of medical malpractice law (plaintiff).
